Hello Demon Hunter!

Here are some pics of my piece for the Toy Art Gallery Anniversary Show opening August 14, 2013 in Los Angeles.  The show runs through October 13.  The show features approximately 50 artists all working on Paul Kaiju’s "Pollen Kaiser".

The Demon Hunter stands about 16” tall and includes a gold SLOBOT holding a sword and a Pollen Kaiser head on a pike.

   

The SLOBOTS August 2013 in LA, CA at TAG Gallery

the SLOBOTS will be present at Music to My Ears at the Toy Art Gallery in LA, CA USA.  The show opens on August 24, 2013.  for more info, please check out the gallery website - Toy Art Gallery.

The theme of the show is focused around music's influence on artists.  There will be two SLOBOT pieces available - a painting, mixed media on canvas entitled "Even Positrons Get the Blues" and also an original sculpture - "Slobotron 6000 - Zooropa Edition".

 

Nick Cave makes robotic looking sound suits!

i saw one of these Nick Cave Soundsuits at a museum a few weeks ago.  while not strictly "robotic" they have a decidedly robotic feel to me...  oh, in case you wondered this is not the musician Nick Cave...

i'm a jasper johns fan.  last year we made a trip to NYC and stopped by the MOMA.  i snapped these pics of one of Jasper's flag paintings.  i was especially happy to get to grab some close-ups to see the details in the work.

inspiration from volkswagen

i've always been a fan of the VW, especially the air-cooled models from the 50s and 60s.
