Space Ace 7 revealed – Slobot vs. Jouwe for TAG Art Show October 2, 2010

Meet Space Ace 7 – my entry into the Jouwe custom show at TAG Gallery in LA on October 2, 2010. 

“The Space Ace 7 is a heavy lifting, space travelling slobot. He spends long hours with his space friends building and repairing spaceships. Many hours under ultraviolet radiation have left his metal skin with a slight glow.”

Oh yeah, he has an LED mounted in his head, making his eyes glow bright blue.

did i mention that he is glow in the dark and black light reactive?  see pics below.

mike slobot's robot art update! kaiju comrades 2, toying with art, and art basel miami

Opening November 12 and running through March 28, 2010 at the Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington, NC is "Toy with Art" an exhibition of toys created by artists... here's a link to a short write-up about it. Toying with Art - Encore Magazine

in future, everyone will have their own slobot pharmacist!

in the future, everyone will have their own robot pharmacist... this is BIGpharma v2.0 (you can see BIGpharma 1.0 here). BIGpharma 2.0 is included in the show "thawed-out" at nowhere limited in colorado. the show opens February 21. BIGpharma stands about 12" tall and is a one-of-a-kind slobot made from found objects, recyclable materials, old toys, and love.

I just finished up this slobot for the show opening november 14 at subtext in san diego His name is "Android-M Class" and started life at a zakkamono miao, but has changed direction in the hands of mike slobot.

Just finished this up for the show at Hero Design. this is a 9" Jamungo BUD. her name is Queen No-Phi and she specializes in VHF broadcasting. Unfortunately, she is not digital ready and needs a converter ;).

SLO-HERREN und SLO-DAMEN for 6x6

Here are some more slobots, recently finished and part of the show: 6x6 These are originals, mostly found objects, including recyclable materials, aluminum arms and legs, and other everyday detritus. a slobot farmer? on mars!

  

this is my latest slobot that i finished up for the TOY BOX APATHY show in Las Vegas, NV in the upstairs gallery at THE ATTIC LAS VEGAS . Custom 7" munny (approx 12" with new legs) with positionable arms, lucite arms and legs, found objects, and positionable "glider" wings. His story: SlomunnyV4 is a Martian Agriculture Robot deployed to Mars before the first settlers arrived. His task was to begin growing desert plant species in an effort to increase the oxygen content of Mars. Even though Mars has been settled for many years now, SlomunnyV4 continues to go about his job with genuine happiness and good will towards Earthlings, Martians, and their respective animals. He happily spends his days bouncing and gliding over the Martian countryside using his wings for added stability in the low gravitational field of Mars.
