This is a new Slobot commission created by Mike Slobot. Transporter-2 is approximately 15" tall, includes many glow in the dark parts, as well as a removable figure. This commission was created for a client who is a wheel chair user. He is interested in human-robot interaction and how robots might be a valuable, meaningful part of our lives in the future - a vision after Mike's own heart.
There’s been some press for the Kaiju Comrades II show that the slobots participated in. the show took place at Tokyo’s Design Festa Gallery in the Harajuku district. the roster of artists was huge, and the slobots were fortunate to get some great coverage in the Japanese magazine “Mono” – thanks to Mark Nagata for including us in the show, and for sending along images of the magazine! Bigger pic of the mag below…. since we don’t speak Japanese, we can only assume that its good, since the “Abominable Slobot” got such great placement!

hey... time for an update...
a slobot has landed in Charleston, WV and will be included in the Dog Days End of Summer Show. The Martian Orange Tree Herder's story goes like this:
“A curious thing happened when the first Orange trees were planted on the Martian Surface. The orange trees grew into a hybrid plant / animal, in so much, that, during growing season, the orange trees began to migrate from field to field. In a moment of necessary quick thinking, the Orange Tree Herder robot was created to corral the young trees.”This slobot has a new feature, a black light reflective belly light. here's my custom stitch that i just finished up for the 626 Experiment with mindSTYLE / disney. mine should be making its debut as part of the upcoming San Diego Comic Con. The original figure was a blank, 10" tall version of Stitch from the Disney Lilo and Stitch franchise. my finished custom stands about 18" tall, and is finished in a trippy copper color. his name is "Time Traveller 626".
this was a fun interview. everyone answered the questions by hand, so there are lots of doodles and scribbles and colors.

i am feeling inspired by the post over at toysrevil about the upcoming Mars-1 show "Nuclear Mystic" at Johnathan Levine in NYC - i decided to browse through some of my favorite works of Mars' from the past... so without ado...
in the future, everyone will have their own robot pharmacist... this is BIGpharma v2.0 (you can see BIGpharma 1.0 here). BIGpharma 2.0 is included in the show "thawed-out" at nowhere limited in colorado. the show opens February 21. BIGpharma stands about 12" tall and is a one-of-a-kind slobot made from found objects, recyclable materials, old toys, and love.
i have always liked the work of phoneticontrol, so i figured a post was in order. great robot / futuristic art, including this shot of a sleepy robot painted onto a 78 record.
